CABO SAN LUCAS · MEXICO
The Arch, the desert, the long Baja day.
El Arco at first light, whales from December, ATVs through the cactus and the boat back at sunset. The marina, the corridor, the road north to Todos Santos and La Paz.
The Cabo combo
The day everyone books first.
Cabo runs on combo trips — three things in one ticket, the way the boats and quads have always been sold here. This is the one that started it.
The classics
Cabo’s Most Popular Tours
Whale watching out of the marina, the boat to El Arco, ATV through the desert, the sunset sail back. The trips most travellers come for.
Only in Baja
Where the desert meets the sea.
Most beaches end at the water. Cabo sits where the Sonoran desert drops straight into the Sea of Cortez — quad in the morning, snorkel by lunch, camels in between. Three sides of the same Baja day.
The water moves
Cabo sits on three migrations.
Humpbacks south for the winter. Marlin north for the summer. Sea lions resident on the rocks year-round. Three things the Sea of Cortez does that the rest of the world doesn’t.
December to April
The humpback months
Five thousand humpback whales come down from Alaska to calve in the warm water off Cabo each winter. Most of them swim straight past the marina. Sightings are effectively guaranteed January through March — the question is how close, not whether.

Marlin capital
The summer billfish
Cabo holds more world records for blue marlin than anywhere else, and the boats leave the marina at dawn for the seamounts where they run. Striped marlin all year. Blues and blacks November to May. Sport fishing built this town before the resorts did.

Sea lions and silvers
Bahía Santa Maria. Chileno Bay. The rocks at Lands End. A resident sea lion colony at the Arch, schools of yellow snapper, parrotfish on the reefs. The Sea of Cortez has more marine species than anywhere except the Coral Triangle.

By place
Pick a corner of Baja.
Cabo San Lucas for the marina and the Arch. San José for the slower old town. Lands End for the granite cathedral. Todos Santos for the Pueblo Mágico. La Paz for the wide bay and the sea lions. The desert for the back roads home.
By activity
Or pick how you want to spend the day.
Boat if you want the Arch. Quad if you want the desert. Whale if it’s winter, sail if it’s sunset. Tequila for after, and camels because you’re in Cabo.
